Ruby Dell Crawley, 88, of Covington, passed away Aug. 15. She was a longtime, loyal member of Calvary Baptist Church in Covington. She loved her church and served in many different capacities and was active in various groups. She was a member and past president of the Pilot Club and enjoyed fishing, vegetable gardening, making ceramics, and reading – especially after the children were grown. In addition, Mrs. Crawley enjoyed traveling with AARP and the Golden Eagles from First Newton Bank. Of her many destinations, she was fortunate to have visited Italy, the Western United States, Alaska, Hawaii, and Nova Scotia. Mrs. Crawley loved her family dearly, and above all, she enjoyed spending time with them. She was preceded in death by her husband Harold Crawley, parents, Marvin and Annie (Shepherd) Johnson, and several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her children and their spouses Gerald and Priscilla Crawley, Lanier and Lee Crawley, Linda and Donald Leach, all of Covington, Jane and Larry White of Social Circle, Lisa and Johnny Bryant of Monroe; grandchildren Mike Crawley, Dena Sims, Steve Leach, Dexter Leach, Dean White, Mark Bryant, Joe Bryant, David Bryant; 14 great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law Ronald and Faye Johnson of Covington; aunt Dorothy Shepherd; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Crawley were held Saturday, Aug. 17, at Calvary Baptist Church, in Covington. Dr. Mike Hardy and the Rev.
