Roy Lee Osborn of Covington died Jan. 13 at Gwinnett Medical Center. The son of Charlie T. and Ella G. McCord, he was born in 1936 in Jersey. Mr. Osborn was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially fishing and watching his grandson Brayson play baseball and having his granddaughter Kyleigh cook him French fries. He was a very giving and humble man. There was never a time that he wouldn't give someone the shirt off his back. He loved his family with everything in him. He instilled honesty, love, charity and respect in all of his children. He is preceded in death by wife Vera Lee Osborn, parents Charlie T. and Ella Osborn and brothers Junior Osborn, Robert Osborn and Clark Osborn.
He is survived by his soulmate Lynn Patterson; son and daughter-in-law Colby and Natasha Osborn of Covington; son Keith Patterson of Covington; daughters and sons-in-law Glynda and Victor Holmes of Loganville, Lynda and Tom Holmes of Oxford, Martha-Ann and Mark Patrick of Covington, Scarlett and Richie Clark of Covington; sisters Ruth and Harold Bradford of Covington, Mary and Lamar Rutledge of Covington, Ann and Ronnie Dodd of Porterdale, Margaret Anderson of Covington; sisters-in-law Lizzie Mae Osborn, Kathy Osborn, Earlene Osborn; grandchildren Kyleigh and Brayson Osborn, chase and Brandon Garrett, Brittany Bruce, Amy and Aaron Holmes, David, Allen and Shawn Holmes; 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be at 10 a.m. today, Jan. 16, in the chapel of Wheeler Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim Walden officiating. Interment will follow at Corinth Memorial Cemetery.
