Mr. Roland V. Tribble “Pop”, age 87, a longtime resident of Newborn passed away Sept. 9, 2017.  He was born Aug. 23, 1930 in Red Level, Alabama and grew up in Atlanta’s West End community.  Mr. Tribble served in the National Guard for 9 years.  He retired from the Atlanta Gas Light Company and was instrumental in helping to establish the 811 call before you dig network.  Mr. Tribble was a loving and devoted family man who cared for his wife; Margine Tribble until her death in 2013.  He spent a great deal of time at and with his church family always going to visit church members and was often the first one at church and the last one to leave; serving as a Deacon of his church was a duty he truly loved.  Mr. Tribble enjoyed working on cars and had several hot rod cars through the years and enjoyed motorcycles as well.    

He is survived by his children and their spouses; Bobby and Glenda Tribble of Conyers, Carol and Bo Schneider of Oxford, Judy Berg of Redmond Oregon, Vincent and Beth Berg of Mansfield and Wesley and Dawn Berg of Newborn along with 12 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. Along with his sisters; Evelyn Little and Joyce Kuykendall and a host of other family and close friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Tribble will be held at 11 o’clock Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2017 at Shiloh Baptist Church with Pastor Danny Sorrells officiating.  Interment will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2017.  In lieu of flowers please make donations to Shiloh Baptist Church, 9595 Hwy 142, Newborn, GA 30056 or to the American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org .  J.C.
