Mr. Rogers Lawrence died May 24. The son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Eddie (Alma Freeman) Lawrence Sr., he was born in 1941 in Covington, one of seven children. He was preceded in death by brothers Willie Gene, L.G. and Robert Lawrence. Mr. Lawrence graduated from R. L.

Cousins High School. At an early age, he joined Macedonia Baptist Church, becoming a dedicated and faithful member. He married Gladys N. Webb on Christmas Day in 1965. A hard worker, he was employed by PACTIV, retiring in 2003. He then became a full-time granddaddy. Mr. Lawrence loved his church and his family; he was always a humble man.
Surviving are his wife of 45 years Mrs. Gladys Webb Lawrence; son Mr. and Min. Andre (Wyleve) Lawrence; daughter Minister and Mrs. Willie (Adrien) Smith; grandchildren Antarius DeAndre Terrell and Aundrea LaShay Lawrence; sisters Mrs. Alma Stewart, Ms. Lillian King and Ms. Louise Webb; brother Mr. and Mrs. Eddie (Rebecca) Lawrence Jr.; brother-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Arthur (Josephine) Webb; and a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and numerous dear friends.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, May 29, at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Tyrone Lane, the Rev. Titus Robertson officiating. Interment will follow in the church Cemetery. Visitation is from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, May 28, at the funeral home.
