Robert “Bobby” Patrick of Oxford, passed away May 26, 2015, at the age of 82. He was a 1952 graduate of Newton High School; and proud veteran of the United States Air Force, having served in both Germany and France, during his active duty from 1953 – 1957. Mr. Patrick was employed by Henson Furniture, until the business closed, and then went on to work for Hercules, for 24 years, prior to his retirement. He served as a deacon for several churches, and was Chairman of the deacon boards at First Baptist of Covington, Mt. Zion Baptist and Calvary Baptist. In addition to serving as deacon, he also treasured the time he devoted to teaching Sunday School. He was an avid Georgia Bulldogs fan. Mr. Patrick was preceded in death by his parents, Cornelius and Fleta (Carter) Patrick.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Betty Patrick; daughter and son-in-law, Leigh Anne and Scott Knight of Oxford; granddaughter, Meghann Knight and her dear friend, Tate Gaines; sister and brother-in-law, Rebekah and Gerald Peppers of McDonough; niece, Melanie Peppers Mertz and her husband, Tom; great-nephews, Jack and Nick Mertz.

Funeral Services for Mr. Patrick will be held Friday, May 29, 2015, 3:00 PM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Rev. Len Strozier and Dr. Cody McNutt officiating, and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, May 28, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. Flowers are accepted, or donations may be made, in memory of Mr. Patrick, to: First Baptist Church – Building Fund, 1139 Usher Street NE, Covington, GA 30014.
