Robert Billy Smith, 87 of Covington, passed away Sunday, April 3, 2016, at Rockdale Medical Center. He was born in Geraldine, Alabama to the late Willie O. and Pearl Stone Smith. Robert was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed gardening, fishing and church channels on TV. Above all else he loved his family. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by wives; Inez Smith, Virginia Smith, Maylar Smith; son Robert Smith; one sister; and brothers, Thomas Alvin, Frank Earl, William C., James H., and Buford Lee.

Robert is survived by his children, Flora (Jack) Starks, Marie Hammonds, Sarah (Michael) Blankenship, Martha Hamrick, Cynthia Massey, David (Pat) Smith, Tommy (Donna) Smith, Willie (Cheryl) Smith and John R. (Robin) Smith; 22 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren, sisters Grace, Ruth and Jean, along with several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 6, 2015 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Wheeler Funeral Home with Rev. Tanner Cline officiating. Interment followed at Green Meadow Memorial Gardens.
