     Reverend Johnny Hutchinson was born in Newark, New Jersey on August 19, 1940, to the late Mr. & Mrs. Tommy (Annie Young) Hutchinson.

     He was raised in south Georgia, he moved to Covington in 1955. He met and married Ms. Mary Ruth Weaver in 1972. He joined Early Hope Baptist Church and was ordained as Deacon Johnny Hutchinson in 1974. In 1979, God called him to carry His word, and in 1980 he became the pastor of Dallas Chapel, where he served for 10 years, and then the Summer Hill Baptist Church in Conyers, Georgia, for 26 years. He joined the Jailhouse Ministry and in 1998 he became the founder of the Cavalry Temple Baptist Church in Covington, Georgia. Rev. Hutchinson worked faithfully until his health failed, and he kept on going till the end. God called him home on April 28, 2014.

     He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Mrs. Mary R. Hutchinson; four sons; Mr. Johnny Hutchinson, Jr., Mr. Anthony Lamar Hutchinson, Mr. Zabie Wyatt, and Mr. Duane Hutchinson; three daughters, Ms. Charlene Banks, Minister Kimberly Usher, and Mr. & Mrs. Mark (Tawana) Rowan, one sister, Ms. Jenny Dodge, Vienna, Georgia, eleven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
