Rev. Alfred Luther Key of Hartwell, GA was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, June 28, 2012 at Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center.  He was born on August 18, 1925 in Augusta, Ga to Luther Moody and Lucy Chavous Key.

He served his country honorably during WWII in the US Navy. Rev. Key was an avid sportsman and excelled in all types of sports. He was a life  member of the Masons and also participated in numerous civic organizations throughout his life. Rev. Key graduated from Richmond Academy in Augusta GA, the University of Georgia and Emory at Oxford.

Rev. Key is survived by his wife of 62 years Betty Key, one daughter and one son, two grandaughters and one great grandson.

 He is preceded in death by his father , mother and brother Eugene E. Key.

Services will be held at 3:00PM on July 1, 2012 at Chapel of Wheeler Funeral Home      Interment will be at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, July 1, 2012 from 1:00-3:00PM.
