Mr. Ralph J. Mulkey, 89 of Covington died February 25, 2010 at Embracing Hospice in Snellville, Georgia. Mr. Mulkey owned and operated Mulkey’s Jewelery and Watch Repair located on the square in Covington for many years. He proudly served his country during WWII in the US Army. He was wounded while stationed in France and received the Purple Heart for his injuries. Mr. Mulkey loved to fish. He and his wife Ophelia loved their great nephew and niece Jake and Rachael and loved to take them on fishing trips. He and his wife were long time members of Calvary Baptist Church where he also served as a Deacon. Mr. Mulkey was predeceased by his wife Ophelia in 2004 and is survived by Preston and Bobbie Mulkey of Snellville and many other nieces, nephews and extended family members. Funeral services will be held on Saturday February 27, 2010 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Harwell-Wheeler Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Westford officiating. Interment will follow at Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends this evening from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home. Friends may sign the online register at www.wheelerfuneralhome.com.
