Mr. Paul Joseph DeConinck, Sr. of Covington died peacefully at home October, 17, 2010 at the age of 79. He retired after 35 years of service from Stanley Tools in 1997, and enjoyed camping, classical music, computers, wood working and watching movies. Paul was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to many. Mr. DeConinck is preceded in death by his first wife of 42 years, Ferna Hazel DeConinck, parents, Jacob and P. Barbara Brenner DeConinck. Mr. DeConinck is survived by his wife, Florine Halstead DeConinck of Covington; daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Philip Joe of Annandale, VA, Susan and Kirk Johnson of Des Moines, IA, Paula and Daniel Bartlett of Newington, CT; son and daughter-in-law, Paul Jr. and Shelby DeConinck of Covington, GA; brother, Phillip DeConinck of Wenham, MA; 6 grandchildren, 5 step children, 8 step grandchildren, and 4 step great-grandchildren. Funeral Services for Mr. DeConinck will be held Thursday, October 21, 2010, 11 A.M., at the Access Road Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, with Rev. William B. Wade, Jr. officiating, and interment following at Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, October 20, from 5 – 8 P.M. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sacred Journey Hospice, 138 Peach Drive, McDonough, GA 30253-4600.
