Nina Mae Burnham, 66, of Porterdale, passed away Dec. 14. She was a lifetime member of Julia A. Porter United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the choir and the youth leader since 1980. She loved her church family and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many. Mrs. Burnham enjoyed cooking and baking and was the owner of Burnie’s BBQ in Porterdale. She was preceded in death by her parents, Plinnie Wilson and Eva Mae (Bailey) Bowen, and brothers, Roy and Troy Bowen.

Survivors include her loving husband of 45 years, Lawrence Burnham of Porterdale; son, Richard Burnham of Covington; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Burnham, Emily Burnham, and Julie Burnham; sisters, Jane Scoggins of Porterdale and Jean Garner of Covington; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services for Mrs. Burnham will be held at 2 p.m. Dec. 18 at Julia A. Porter United Methodist Church, Porterdale, with the Rev. Kelly Brisendine, Doug Doster and the Rev. John Ozley officiating, and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. Flowers will be accepted, or donations may be made to Julia A. Porter UMC Youth Group, P.O. Box 700, Porterdale, Ga. 30070.
