Mr. Nana Kwayme Boakye died Aug. 4. He was born in 1983 in Fulton county, the son of Mary Ann (Reid) Boakye and Oheneba Yiadom Boakye. One of five siblings, he was a graduate of Pebblebrook High School, Mableton. Mr. Boakye was a well-mannered and humble young man, who always kept a smile on his face, Although reserved, he loved his friends and family. He was a mentor to younger children in the community, encouraging them to stay in school. He had a charming and unforgettable manner. Mr. Boakye was a hard worker with a tremendous work ethic. He was employed by Canaan Construction, a company opened and operated by his uncle Tommy Reid. As a hands-on father, he loved spending time with his daughters. Basketball was his favorite pastime. Mr. Boakye was a magnificent son, father, mentor and friend to the community. He will be missed by many because of his wonderful personality and genuine smile. He leaves a legacy of love and giving. He was preceded in death by grandparents Ernest and Emma Reid and special uncle Ralph Reid.

Surviving are children Simone Afria Thornton, Nyaja Lynn Whitaker; parents, Mary Ann Boakye, Oheneba Yiadom (Salomey) Boakye; sister Nanette Akosya Boakye; brothers Antonio (LaTina) Reid, Ricky Boakye, Nana Yaw Boakye, Shawn Kofi Boakye; special aunt Cora (Larry) Hodge; aunts Ethel Kempson, Betty Mathis, Anita Hold, Deborah Reid, Rita Serebour; uncles Tommy (Vanessa) Reid, Jimmy (Yvonne) Reid, George (Cheryl) Reid, Ernest (Michelle) Reid Jr., Ray Chester (Mattie) Reid, Joseph (Candice Reid, Larry (Rachel) Hold, Marion Sanford, Kwame Adjei Donhor, Adejei Y. Boakye; special friend Leslie Moore; nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and dear friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 14, at Faith of Jesus Ministries with the Rev. Lamar Bell and Pastor Dr. Charles Wallace II. Interment will follow in Perry Cemetery.
