Myrtle K. Harper of Covington, passed away June 3, 2011, at the age of 90. She was a life-long resident of Newton County, and member of The Baptist Tabernacle. Mrs. Harper was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Harper; and her parents, Robert Lee and Maggie Bell (Loyd) Kirkpatrick.

Survivors include her daughter, Margaret Reid Sappington of Fayetteville, NC; son and daughter-in-law, John H. and Amanda Reid; brother, Walker Sams Kirkpatrick, all of Covington; grandchildren, Scott Sappington, Mark Reid, Jimmy Reid; 5 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Harper will be held Sunday, June 5, 2011, 4:00 PM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 3134 Floyd Street, with Dr. R. Hudson Moody and Dr. David Moody officiating, and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Saturday, June 4, from 6-8 PM.
