Ms. Sally Mae Cook was born on July 11, 1939, to the late Mr. & Mrs. Eddie (Sarah) Cook. She was one of 13 children.

She was raised and educated in Newton County. She attended Washington Street High School.  She enjoyed dancing and cooking. 

Sallie is preceded in death by her daughter, Ms. Patricia Weaver; parents, Mr. & Mrs. Eddie (Sarah) Cook; sister, Mrs. Louise Davis; brothers, Mr. Robert Cook, Mr. John Robert Cook, Mr. Lairon Cook, Mr. Eddie Cook, Jr. and Mr. Willie Cook.

She leaves to cherish her memories, four sisters, Mrs. Emma Jones, Mrs. Rosa Glover, Ms. Tiny Cook, all of Covington, Georgia and Ms. Eva Cook, of Monroe; two brothers, Mr. Goodwin Cook, of Covington, and Mr. Eugene Cook, of Milledgeville; two good friends, Ms. Dorothy Wise and Ms. Linda Freeman and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family of the late Ms. Sally Mae Cook would like to express their gratitude to each of you for your prayers and acts of kindness shown to them during this time. May God’s richest blessings shower upon each of your lives.

A funeral service was held at noon Wednesday, Nov. 28 at St. Paul AME Church, in Covington, with the Rev. Thomas Stegall officiating.
