Ms. Hattie Lois Horton was born July 5, 1941, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Leroy (Annie Lois) Hill.

She attended Washington Street School. She enjoyed watching her soap operas, being a housewife and dipping snuff. 

Ms. Hattie Lois Horton departed this earthly life on Saturday, Nov. 11, 2017. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Betty Ann Horton and Doretha Webb; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leroy (Annie Lois) Horton; son-in-law, David Barnes; two sisters, Emay Latimore and Mary Ward; two brothers, Jimmy Lee Hill and Willie Roy Hill and a brother-in-law, Billy Latimore.

She is survived by her children, Deborah Barnes (Mr. James Ridley), Mr. and Mrs. Terry (Crystal) Brooks, Beverly Horton, Mr. and Mrs. JC (Dorthly) Horton, James (Juanita) Horton, Ronnie (Angela) Horton, Mr. and Mrs. Timmy (Liz) Horton, Anthony Horton and Mr. and Mrs. Christopher (Ramseur) Horton; son-in-law, Ricky Height;   19 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; sister, Mrs. Annie Christian; sister-in-law, Mrs. Ms. Rosetta Stephens; brother-in-law, Mr. Willie Horton; great uncle, Mr. Jimmy Byrd; special cousins, Idill Thomas, Mattie Lois Jackson, Joe Byrd and Sonny Byrd and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. 

Funeral services were held Friday, Nov. 17, 2017 at 12:30 p.m. at Sims Chapel Baptist Church, at 61 Sims Chapel Road, in Covington with Rev. Cecil J. Rozier and Rev. A. Fay Smith officiating.
