Ellis

Mrs. Ruby Ellis, age 78, of Oxford died Saturday, May 7, 2011 at Abbey Hospice in Social Circle.  She was born August 1, 1932 to the late Clem and Mary Pugh Holmes in Greene County Georgia.  Mrs. Ellis was of the Methodist faith and a longtime member of Allen Memorial United Methodist Church.  She enjoyed needle work as a hobby.

Mrs. Ellis is survived by her Husband Mr. Leland Ellis, Son Kelly H. Ellis of Oxford, Daughter Teresa Kennon of Covington, three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.  She is also survived by two Brothers; Jerry Holmes of Social Circle and Bobby Holmes of Good Hope, four Sisters; Jeanette Ellington of Oxford, Adrian Capes of Almon, Faye Johnson of Covington and Dianne Reagin of Conyers and numerous nieces, nephews, other family and close friends. 

Graveside services for Mrs. Ellis will be held at 2 o’clock Monday, May 9, 2011 at Oxford Historical Cemetery with Mr. Larry Capes officiating.  The family will receive friends at Harwell Funeral Home on Sunday, May 8, 2011 from 4pm until 6pm.  In lieu of flowers those desiring may make contributions to the Diabetes Association of Newton County.
