Obituary

Mrs. Rubie Lee Terry was born May 30, 1954, to the late Mr. & Mrs. Marshall Lee (Louise Hardeman) Smith.

She was educated in Newton County, Georgia and worked several jobs until her health declined. Rubie became a Homemaker and mother figure not only to her children, but to her grandchildren and great grandchildren, who she loved dearly and spoiled siblings and anyone who was blessed to have known her. She was married to Mr. Charles Lee Terry.

Rubie had a passion and love for Christ. Her faith in God has been an inspiration to many. She was a joy to be around, never complained. She was an active member of the Poplar Hill usher board and women's missionary society. She also sung in the ladies choir. The joy of the Lord was her strength. Even when her health began to deteriorate, she would still come to church and stand at her post, sometimes Pastor Martin would have to make her sit down. When asked how she was doing, her response was always, "I'm fine".

She quietly transitioned home to be with her heavenly father on August 11, 2015. She is preceded in death by four brothers, Johnny, Grady, Robert and Larry and one sister, Debra.

Rubie leaves to cherish her memories; daughters, Mr. & Mrs. Antonio (Tricia) Hubert and Mr. & Mrs. Donald (Sandra) Hardwick, grandchildren, Michael, Patrice, Charles, Rickey (Audreanna), Latricia, Macy, Jammal and Shantia, great grandchildren, Simya, Dekerria, Miracle, Tyasia, Jamiya, Jr., Michael, Omarion and Ruth, two sisters, Ms. Nettie Smith and Ms. Patricia (Gail) Smith, one brother, Mr. Willie Gene Smith, devoted and special friend, Mr. Osborn Prince and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
