Ollie Mae Grant Sams, age 86, passed Sunday, May 19, 2013. A visitation will be Thursday May, 23rd at J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home in Covington,Ga. from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30p.m.  Graveside service will be held following the visitation at 2:00 p.m. in the Newborn Memorial Cemetery in Newborn, Ga.

 Mrs. Sams was born in Porterdale, she lived in Newborn with her husband Hugh Sams who has proceeded her.  After raising her family and taking care of her mother, she moved to Covington where she has lived for many years.  She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Covington.

She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Powell from Charlottesville, VA.; her sons, Don Sams from Jacksonville, FL and Randy Sams from Lizella, GA. Grandsons, Robbie Powell and Ryan Powell. Granddaughter, Dana Sams and great grandson, Ethan Powell.
