Mitcham Mrs. Myron B. Mitcham, 96 of Oxford died June 9, 2010 at Abbey Hospice in Social Circle, Ga.. Mrs. Mitcham was born in 1913 in Newton County to the late Thomas Grover and Nancy Guinn Boggus. She attended Georgia State College for Women where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree. She became a teacher and taught at Livingston and Palmer Stone Elementary Schools in Newton County, before retiring. She was a lifelong member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Oxford and a member of the Sunday School Class. She loved reading, flowers and gardening. Mrs. Mitcham was predeceased by her husband Clode Seymour Mitcham in 2004. She is survived by her son and daughter in law Tommy and Emy Mitcham, grandsons Kevin & Pam Mitcham and Keith & Sandi Mitcham and 5 great grandchildren all of Oxford and her sister in law Nell Nixon of Covington. Funeral services will be held on Saturday June 12, 2010 at 3:00 pm at Macedonia Baptist Church with Rev. Frank Daws officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5 until 8 pm at Harwell-Wheeler Funeral Home. Flowers are accepted or contributions may be made to Macedonia Baptist Church.
