Mrs. Mary Merle Davis, 85, a lifelong resident of Covington passed away Sunday, August 26, 2012.  She was born May 30, 1927 in Covington to the late Jesse and Allie Farrow.  Mrs. Davis was retired from Oxford Industries where she was employed for a number of years as a seamstress.  She enjoyed sewing and gardening and loved spending time with her family and was very close with her great grandson Cody.  Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Carson Davis.

Mrs. Davis is survived by her son Wayne Davis, her daughter and son-in-law Claudia and Randy Dennis all of Covington along her grandchildren Leslie and Wayne Sparks of Monticello and great grandchild Cody Sparks.

Graveside services for Mrs. Davis will be held at 10 O’clock, Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at Covington City Cemetery.  A reception of friends and family will be held Monday, August 27, 2012 at J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home from 6pm until 8pm.  J.C.
