Mrs. Lois Goddard Dalton, of Covington passed away July 17, 2012 at Abbey Hospice.  She was born July 14, 1925 in Porterdale, Georgia to the late F.A. and Effie Turner Goddard.  Mrs. Dalton was a long time member of Gaither’s United Methodist Church.  She was a loving Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother who enjoyed baking, crocheting, knitting, making angel pins, and shopping.  Mrs. Dalton enjoyed going to Chic-Fil-A in Covington on a daily basis, as long as her health permitted, where she visited with many close friends.  She was preceded in death by her husband Arthur Weidman Dalton.

Mrs. Dalton is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Linda and Theron Hays, her grandchildren Marcy and Carl Wilson of Covington and Greg and Jennifer Hays of Lawrenceville, her great grandchildren Carlynn and Hays Wilson and Katie and Dalton Hays, her brother and sister-in-law Reverend Herman R. and Grace Goddard along with many other family members and numerous close friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Dalton will be held at 2 O’clock, Thursday, July 19, 2012 at the Chapel of J. C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home with Reverend Scott Moore officiating.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4pm until 6pm on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 and again from 12pm until 2pm on Thursday prior to the service.  J.C.
