Mrs. Frances Martin Woodruff, 87 of Griffin, passed away on Thursday, April 21, 2016, at Abby Hospice in Covington after residing at Benton House Senior Living Facility for the last three years.
Mrs. Woodruff was born on August 11, 1928. She is preceded in death by her parents, Horace Martin and Anne Ingram Martin; husbands, Lt. Beryl Duane Budd, Sr. and Ernest T. Woodruff; daughter, Christie A. Harris; brothers, James Horace Martin, Jr., Edward T. Martin. Mrs. Woodruff was a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School in Thomaston, and a graduate of Georgia State College for Women. She was a member of the Daughters of American Revolution, a volunteer and member of Griffin First Baptist Church for 58 years and taught Home Economics in Moultrie.
She is survived by son, Beryl Budd of Covington; grandsons, Jake T. Harris and Katie of Griffin, Taylor Harris of Griffin; great grandson, Wyatt Harris; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation for Mrs. Frances M. Woodruff were Sunday, April 24, 2016, from 4-6 p.m. at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. A funeral service was conducted on Monday, April 25, 2016, at 1 p.m. in the Bramblett Chapel of Griffin First Baptist Church. Dr. Bill Hardee will officiate. Interment will follow in Vienna City Cemetery at 4:30 p.m. Mrs. Woodruff will lie-in-state from 12:30 p.m. until the funeral hour at the church.
