Born in Gainesville, Georgia, Mrs. Ferrell Batchelor Dyer of St. Cloud, Florida, formerly of Covington, passed away on December 30, 2009 at Saint Cloud Regional Medical Center at the age of 83. She enjoyed being a military wife and was totally supportive of her husband’s 31 year Army career. Mrs. Dyer enjoyed traveling extensively with her late husband, CWO4 Robert Alton Dyer. She attended Julia A. Porter United Methodist Church and was known for making beautiful quilts. In addition to quilting, she loved reading and writing poetry. She is preceded in death by her mother, Madeline Freeman Huff, father, Thomas Thadeus Batchelor, and her son-in-law, Stanley Walker Harris. Mrs. Dyer is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Rebecca Dyer Harris of Covington, David and Patricia Dyer Clester of St. Cloud, FL., Steven and Susan Dyer Jasinski of Lake Elmo, MN; 6 grandchildren, Trudy Rebecca Harris, Matthew Stanley and Ida Harris, David and Lauren Patricia Johnson, Robyn Elaine Weisbrod, Douglas Edward Weisbrod, Melinda Claire Weisbrod; great-grandsons, Caleb Johnson, Jonah Johnson, Parks Harris and Hudson Harris; sister, Bobbie Batchelor Taylor of Deltaville, VA. Funeral Services for Mrs. Dyer will be held on Monday, January 4, 2010 at the Floyd Street Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home at 3:00 P.M. with Pastor David Payne officiating and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at 3134 Floyd Street on Monday, January 4, 2010 from 2:00 until 3:00 P.M. Flowers are acceptable or donations may be made to any charity or the church of your choice.
