Mrs. Evelyn R. Shaver, age 89, passed away February 11, 2013 at The Benton House of Covington.  She was born in Knoxville Tennessee to Rufus and Ida Davis on October 18, 1923.  Mrs. Shaver was an avid reader, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family.  She was preceded in death by her husband Howard Shaver, her son, Maurice Shaver and her son-in-law, Eddie Phillips.

Mrs. Shaver is survived by her daughter Carolyn Phillips of Covington, son and daughter-in-law Troy and Eleanor Shaver of Charlottesville, VA, and daughter-in-law Sandra Shaver of Cumming, GA.  She is also survived by her grandchildren and their spouses Dana and Tommy Knight, Jerry Shaver, Sherie and Tim McCart, Paige and Jim Alexander, and Candice Shaver, and her great grandchildren; Travis and Austin Knight, Zack and Alana Freeman, Anthony Shaver and Laura McCart along, other family and close friends.

Graveside services for Mrs. Shaver will be held at 11 O’clock Thursday, February 14, 2013 at Lawnwood Memorial Park with Reverend Jim Ross officiating.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday prior to the service from 10:00 am until 10:45 am.  J.C.
