Mother Dorothy Marie Glenn was born Sept. 14, 1935, in Decatur, Georgia to the late Ms. Willie Mae Kelly and Mr. Gus Moore.
She was united in Holy Matrimony to Mr. Ruben M. Glenn, they were married for 49 years. She was employed by the City of Atlanta Board of Education from 1965 to 1992. Her favorite past time was watching Monster Movies (Godzilla) and others. She was a member of Second MT. Vernon Baptist Church under the leadership of the Late Pastor G.W. Baker, where she served on The Mother Board #2. Later, she joined Bethel Grove Baptist Church under the Leadership of the Late Pastor Willie Tigner, Sr. & now under the leadership of Bishop Samuel Holmes, where she served on the Mother Board.
On May 2, 2019, she was called to her eternal home to be with the Lord. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ruben M. Glenn and brother, Pastor George Moore.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her children, three sons, Mr. Donald Moore, Mr. Anthony Moore, Mr. and Mrs. Ruben E. (Wanda) Glenn; daughter, Ms. Chandra Woods; 14 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Ollie Mae Cody and Mrs. Cornelia Stepps; one brother, Mr. Robert Ward; brother-in-law, Mr. Edward Glenn; special friends, Mrs. Gladys Slocum, Ms. Joyce Harmon, Mr. Clarence Hunter, Mrs. Alma Wheeler and Ms. Natasha Smith and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 11 at Bethel Grove Baptist Chruch, 10728 Flat Shoals Road, Covington, GA 30016, with Bishop Samuel Holmes officiating.
