Annelle Townsend, of Oxford, passed away Sept. 26, 2014 at the age of 82. Married to Grady Townsend for 59 years, the couple honeymooned in Daytona, and visited there every year around their anniversary. Mrs. Townsend enjoyed shopping, but most of all she loved being with her family. She was a member of Heritage Hills Baptist Church in Conyers and will be remembered as a great cook – always preparing more than enough. Mrs. Townsend was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Sally Mae Davis; brothers, Buford Davis, R.H. Davis; and sister, Willene Royal.

Survivors include her beloved husband, Grady Townsend of Oxford; daughters and sons-in-law, Cathy and Larry Cheek of Oxford, Gloria and Steve Lee of Conyers; grandchildren, Lan and Chelsea Moody, Garett and Kayleigh Moody, Amy and Kevin Wade, Dottie Rowe; great-grandchildren, Ashton Wade, Lance Bennington, Landon Moody, Karleigh Rose Moody, and expecting two more; sister, Agnes Canup; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Townsend will be held Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2014, 11:00 a.m., at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Dr. Doug Ferguson and Dr. Larry Cheek officiating. Interment will follow in Baldwin Memorial Gardens in Milledgeville. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday, Sept. 29, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
