William “Bill” Boyd, 74 of Covington, passed away on Thursday, April 14, 2016. He was born in Atlanta to the late Clifford and Kathryn Park Boyd. Bill was a member of the First Baptist Church of Conyers. He proudly served his country in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. Bill was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was preceded in death by his wife Joy Boyd in 2011 and his brother Ronald Boyd in 1998.

Bill is survived by his son Mark Boyd of Marietta; daughter Michelle Boyd of McDonough; step-sons Jack Webb of North Carolina and Lance Webb of South Carolina; grandchildren Ramzey, Ryan, Ashleigh, Shelby, Brandon, Ramie, and River; and great-grandchildren CJ, Brodie, Tate and one on the way, Hudson.

A memorial service will be held in the chapel of Wheeler Funeral Home and Crematory Monday, April 18, 2016 at 3 p.m. with Dr. Craig Beall officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University, 1365 Clifton Rd., Atlanta, GA. 30322 in honor of Bill Boyd.
