Mr. Stephen P. Strickland

Stephen P. Strickland, born Dec. 21, 1943 to Madeline Collins Strickland and Pierce D. Strickland, died July 12, 2014.
He was from Cairo, Georgia. He graduated from Georgia Tech in 1968 and was employed at Fibervisions (formerly Hercules) in Oxford, Ga. until retirement in 1997. He then started his second career, and he was currently working at Georgia Piedmont Technical College in Covington, Georgia as a math instructor. He is survived by his wife, Elsie Strickland, mother, Madeline Collins Strickland, daughters Pierrette (Roger) Hall and Danielle Barbo, step-son Tom (Dawn) Morris, seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren, a brother E. Richard Strickland of Cairo, Georgia and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father Pierce D. Strickland. A memorial Service will be held at Mansfield Baptist Church, Saturday July 19th, 2014, at 3 p.m. with a visitation from 2 to 3. Dr. Jeff Perkins will be officiating the service. Steve was a Charter Member of Gordon Heights Baptist Church in Cairo, Georgia and joined Mansfield Baptist Church March 15, 2009. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Mansfield Baptist Church Building Fund.
