On June 19, 1978, Mr. Royce Meronelton "Digem" Mitchell, was born to the late Mr. & Mrs. Roy (Vivian "Bea" ) Gaither. He was the oldest of four children.
He attended and graduated from Newton County High School. He played football and he wrestled. Digem was a member of the Mansfield Masonic Lodge # 295. If there was a PHD degree for Masonry, it would go to him because he knew his stuff like the back of his hands. He loved and lived the Masonic life to the fullest.
"Digem" was a professional truck driver for Hyline Trucking, Newton County Landfill and BMS Enterprise. He was a great driver and wonderful employee, who always went above and beyond, he loved driving trucks and he wanted to one day have his own Trucking Company.
On September 3, 2015, God , the angels, and his parents came to bring him home, so he could finally be at peace. No more stressing, worrying, wondering and feeling out of place. His work on earth was completed. The weight of the world is no longer on his shoulders to carry. His mind, body and soul ,no longer has to suffer. God called a wonderful man home. "Digem" contagious smile and wonderful personality will forever live on. He will truly be missed and loved by so many. He never met a stranger. Once you talked to him, he made you feel like you've known him for years. He had a great persona.
He leaves to cherish, his beautiful wife, Mrs. Charmine Tashea Mitchell, children, Ms. Saleen, Ms. Imani, Ms. Iyana, and Ms. Iesha, sisters, Mr & Mrs. Jerome (Chrishaye) Gaither- White and Ms. Sequoyah Mitchell, and Ms. Lisa Mitchell, brother, Mr. & Mrs. Markel (Chineisa) Mitchell, grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Bud (Betty) Gaither, uncle, Mr.& Mrs. Spurgeon (Anita) Gaither, nephews, Markel Jr., and Rahkel, and a host of close aunts, uncles, Nieces, nephews cousins and friends.
