Mr. Robert C. Cason, 79, a lifelong resident of Oxford passed away Tuesday, October 21, 2014.  He was born in Oxford, Georgia to the late Charles Arthur and Sadie Ruth Bostwick Cason on October 31, 1934.  Mr. Cason served his country in the United States Army.  He worked for and retired from John S. Frey Company, retiring in the early 1980’s.  After retiring, Mr. Cason worked with his longtime friend, Wendell Parker, remodeling and restoring homes.  He was a devoted and hardworking member of Gum Creek Presbyterian Church, where he was a member his entire life.  Mr. Cason loved working on his farm, being with his family and loved working with his cattle.  He was preceded in death by his brothers and sister-in-law: Lewis and Cornelia Cason, George Dewey Cason and brother-in-law Gene Garner. 

 

A devoted husband Mr. Cason is survived by his wife Mynra Cason, his siblings Sadie Ruth Cason Garner and Jack and Bertha Cason all of Oxford and his sister-in-law Betty Neal Cason also of Oxford.  He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, along with his great nieces and great nephews whom he loved dearly and who loved him.  A host of other family and friends also survive him.

 

Funeral services for Mr. Cason will be held at 11 o’clock, Thursday, October 23, 2014 at Gum Creek Presbyterian Church with Reverend Ron Hieber and Reverend Kerry Duncan officiating.  The family will receive friends at J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home from 6pm until 8pm on Wednesday, October 22, 2014.  Following the funeral service Mr. Cason is to be cremated and at a later time following Mrs. Myrna’s passing the two will be buried together.  In lieu of flowers those desiring may make donations to Gum Creek Presbyterian Church, 2700 Gum Creek Road, Oxford, GA 30054.  J.C.
