Mr. Hughie Thomas Bonner

Hughie Thomas Bonner, known as Buster to many, was born to Rufus and Martha Bonner on Sept. 25, 1936, died Monday, May 19. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Talitha Bonner, known as Tiny. He is survived by four sons; Tommy (and Margaret), Joe (and Lois), Scott (and Lori) and Ken (and Dessa), by 10 grandchildren, Travis, Lindsey, Sarah, Amanda, Leah, Elizabeth, Megan, Garrett, Ryan and Lindsay. They had one great-grandchild, Evie.

He was survived by his brother Ed (married to Elizabeth) and sister Clara Ruth Almond (married to Arthur Lee), along with several nieces and nephews.

Buster enjoyed Atlanta Braves baseball and University of Georgia football, as well as bowling.

He worked for the Bibb Manufacturing Company in Porterdale, Mobil Oil in Georgia, Texas and New York, Papel Manufacturing in California, and completed his career as a salesman back home in Georgia. He retired in 2002.
He was a long-time member of Grace Baptist Church of Newton County, where he was a deacon, head of church finance, and taught Sunday school.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that donations be made in the name of Hughie Bonner to Grace Baptist Church, 474 Crowell Road, Porterdale, Ga. 30014.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, May 24, 2014 at Grace Baptist Church at 11 a.m. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
