 Mr. Elbert Glenn "JP" Parker, Jr. age 64 of Covington died Tuesday, October 27, 2009.  He was born August 21, 1945 in Loudon County Tennessee to Elbert Parker Sr. of Thomaston and to the late Delia (Gooden) Parker.  Mr. Parker enjoyed fishing, bowling, Nascar racing and drag racing.  Growing up he enjoyed sports including playing baseball and softball.  He was retired from Newton County where he worked as a truck driver for the land field.  Mr. Parker proudly served our country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.Mr. Parker is survived by his wife: Eva Marie Crosby Parker of Covington; father: Elbert Parker, Sr. of Thomaston; daughters and son-in-law: Dawn Parker and Eddie Bowen of Mansfield and Traci D. Gossett of Kentucky; sister-in-law: Tara Crosby of Stockbridge; brother: Marshall Parker of Dacula; sister: Frennis Spivey of Thomaston; grandchildren: Ashley Davis, Brittany Davis, Kenny Davis and Devon Gossett.The family will receive friends at Wheeler Funeral home from 5:00-7:00PM Thursday, October 29, 2009.
