Mr. Edwin Charles Smith was born September 21, 1958 in Newton County, to the late Mr. Leroy Smith and Mrs. Emma Mary Frances Thomas.

     He attended Newton County High School where he later worked as a concrete finisher until his health declined.

    He departed this earthly life on Monday, January 18, 2016. He was preceded in death by two siblings, Mrs. Barbara D. Jordan and Mr. Leroy Smith, Jr.

    Mr. Smith leaves to cherish his memories; Mr. & Mrs. Larry (Alice) Smith, Ms. Vickie R. Smith, Ms. Connie F. Smith, Mr. Vernon V. Thomas, Mr. & Mrs. Eric (Crystal) Thomas, step- parents, Mrs. Annie Nell Smith and Mr. Vannoy Thomas, aunt, Mrs. Leona Carr and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins , four special friends, Ms. Gurlie Dyer, Ms. Wanda Usher,  Mr. Rabbit Smith and  Ms. Joan Adams, a host of other relatives and friends.
