Mr. Dewey Cason, of Oxford passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family on July 10, 2011.  He was born May 31, 1925 in Oxford to the late Charles A. and Sadie Ruth Bostwick Cason.  Mr. Cason was a lifelong resident of Oxford and was a member of Gum Creek Presbyterian Church where he served faithful as an elder and member until his death.  He served his country proudly in the United States Navy serving during World War II.  Mr. Cason retired from Snapping Shoals EMC after 35 years of service.                                        

 

Mr. Cason is survived by his Wife Mrs. Betty Neal Cason and his Daughters and Sons-In-Law; Kim and Dale Dylong and Kathy and Keith Christopherson and three Grandchildren  Kasey Dylong, Kari Dylong and Kyle Christopherson all of Oxford.  He is also survived by Brothers and Sisters-In-Law; Robert and Mynra Cason and Jack and Bertha Cason along with Sister and Brother-In-Law Sadie Ruth and Gene Garner, Brother-In-Law and Sister-In-Law Robert and Ola House also all of Oxford.  Numerous Nieces, Nephews, other family and close friends also survive him. 

 

Funeral services for Mr. Cason will be held at 11 o’clock Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at the Gum Creek Presbyterian Church with Reverend Ken Wilmesherr officiating.  Interment will follow at Oxford Historical Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at Harwell Funeral Home from 6:00pm until 8:00pm on Tuesday, July 12, 2011.  In lieu of flowers those desiring may make contributions to Gum Creek Presbyterian Church 2700 Gum Creek Road Oxford, GA 30054 in honor of Mr. Cason.  Harwell Funeral Home and Cremation Chapel, 2157 East Street SE, Covington, GA 30014 is in charge of arrangements. www.harwellfuneralhome.com
