Mr. Milton Bennett Hancock Sr., 80, of Covington, passed away Nov. 9. Hancock was born Nov. 16, 1931 in Thomaston.
He served 20 years in the United States Navy; five years on active duty and his remaining time in the Navy Reserves. He held a L.L.B. degree from Woodrow Wilson Law School. He retired from SunTrust Bank after more than 35 years in banking. Hancock loved fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Shepherd Bennett Hancock and Rosa Mae Black.
Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years, Helen Hancock of Covington; daughter and son-in-law Marsha and Tom Fraker of Peachtree City; son and daughter-in-law Milton Hancock and Toni Babb of Oxford; and three grandchildren Benn, Davis and Addie Fraker, also of Peachtree City.
Funeral services for Mr. Hancock will be held tomorrow, Nov. 12, 11 a.m., at First Baptist Church, 1139 Usher Street, NE, in Covington, with Pastor Jason Dees, Rev. Len Strozier, and Rev. Jack Wilson officiating, and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, today, Nov. 11, from 4 to 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 42 Perimeter Center East, Suite 550, Atlanta, GA 30346.
