Mrs. Mary Will Jolly Carmichael, age 94, of Rome, died at a local hospital Sunday April 12, 2015.

Mrs. Carmichael was born November 26, 1920, daughter of the late James Levi Jolly and Rebecca Holland Jolly. She was also preceded in death by her husband Abe Young Carmichael on September 6, 1982 to whom she was married on March 26, 1949, and sister Betty Jolly Ingram.

She attended Rome City Schools and Cooper Hall of Rome where she was a graduate of the class of 1938, and later attended Shorter College. She was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Rome, the Xavier Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, an honorary member of the Junior Service league, a former member of the Garden Lakes Study Club and was a veteran of World War II serving three years in the U.S. Navy as a WAVE, and had a deep interest and love of history and her country.

Survivors include her son James Neal Carmichael (Sharon), and daughter Mary Carmichael McMorrow (Steve).

Services for Mrs. Carmichael will be held Wednesday April 15, 2015 at 11:00 am in the Thomas B. Griffin Memorial Chapel of Daniel’s Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Wednesday morning at Daniel’s from 10 am until the funeral hour.

Interment will follow at the Euharlee Presbyterian Church Cemetery of Bartow County, Euharlee, GA.
