Martha Parr Arnold, of Covington, passed away June 16, 2017, at 68 years of age.  She was a member of First Baptist Church in Covington, and was involved in the JOY Sunday School Class.  She was also an active member of the Covington Pilot Club. Mrs. Arnold was employed as a school nurse in the Newton County School System for several years.  In addition, she worked for several doctors in the Newton and Rockdale area, including Dr. Robert Faulkner.    She was a gentle soul who loved babies and never met a stranger.  If you were her friend, you were considered a part of her family.  She was well-known and well-loved, and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.  Mrs. Arnold was preceded in death by her parents, Charles E. and Dorothy Parr; and brother, Guy Parr.

Survivors include her devoted husband of 50 years, Lyle Arnold; sons and daughters-in-law, Robert L. Jr., and Marrianne Arnold, of Covington, Stephen Matthew Arnold and Dana Beth Miller, of San Antonio, Texas; grandchildren, Emily Grace Arnold, R. Logan Arnold; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Memorial Service for Mrs. Arnold will be held Thursday, June 22, 2017, 1 p.m., at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Dr. Robert L. Faulkner officiating.  Friends may visit with the family Wednesday, June 21, at the funeral home from 5 - 8 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, 1139 Usher St. NE, Covington, GA  30014, or the charity of your choice.  The family wishes to express their appreciation to M.D. Anderson Hospital, in Jacksonville, Florida, Atlanta Cancer Care, and Sacred Journey Hospice, in McDonough, for the love and care they extended to Mrs. Arnold and her family.
