Mrs. Martha Kate Syphoe Hightower died Nov. 9 at Newton Medical Center.

Mrs. Hightower is survived by six children: Carolyn Price, Larry Hightower, Rachel Green, Johnny (Gwen) Hightower, Sandra (Charles) Gaither and Brenda Freeman; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sister Mrs. Novella Baity; brother and sister-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Ebbie (Sarah) Syphoe; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be at Young Funeral Home Monday from noon to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 15, at 1 p.m. at Graves Chapel AME Church in Social Circle with Pastor Charlie F. Stembridge delivering the eulogy. Interment will follow at Graves Cemetery.
