Mrs. Mari Etta Johnson, age 78, a longtime resident of Covington passed away Tuesday, July 18, 2017.  She was born in North Carolina on July 25, 1938.  A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother; Mrs. Johnson enjoyed gardening and was an avid reader.  She is survived by her husband; Michael S. Johnson, her children; Mari Jane Smith, of Covington, T.J. Smith, of Conyers, Rebecca Van Kanegan (John), of Covington, and Dave Smith (Renee), also of Covington, along with seven grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. 

A memorial service will be held at 11 o’clock Saturday, July 22, 2017 at the Chapel of J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home.  J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home, 2157 East Street, SE, Covington, GA 30014 is in charge of the arrangements.  A guest book may be signed on-line www.harwellfuneralhome.com.
