Miss Margaret Skelton of Conyers passed away at Rockdale Medical Center on January 24, 2011 at the age of 82.  Margaret was born in Covington to   D. C. “Bill” and Dolly (Ramey) Skelton and was employed by Covington Mill and Bibb Manufacturing for many years. Margaret was known as “caretaker” by her family members as she raised her siblings after the passing of her mother, and was also known as grandmother by her nieces and nephews. She was known as “Squiney” which evolved into “Nenny” and was everyone’s angel.  Her specialty was making biscuits for her family and friends. She was of the Baptist faith, attended Christ in You Fellowship Church in Doerun, GA, and loved listening to gospel music and reading her Bible. Margaret loved family reunions in northern GA., and enjoyed the beach in Panama City Florida, where she resided with her niece, Miki Skelton-Walden. Margaret is preceded in death by 4 brothers, Sylvester, Herman, Burl and an infant brother.

 

Margaret is survived by her 2 brothers and sisters-in-law, Earl and Evelyn Skelton of Villa Rica, Floyd and Mary Skelton of Newborn; 2 sisters and brother-in-law, Hollis and Peggy Morris, Faye Ricks all of Conyers; uncle, Virgil Ramey of Easley, S.C.; numerous nieces, nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews.

 

Funeral Services for Margaret will be held Thursday, January 27, 2011, 2:00 P.M. at the Floyd Street Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 3134 Floyd Street, with Rev. Roy Ivey officiating and interment following in Corinth Memorial Gardens in Loganville.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday 5:00 until 8:00 P.M.
