Mrs. Mable “Mickey” Rodgers, age 82, of Covington, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2017.  She was born April 26, 1935 in Porterdale.  Mrs. Rodgers grew up in Covington and is a lifelong member of Red Oak United Methodist Church.  She enjoyed life and grew up playing basketball at Heard-Mixon School, teaching her children and grandchildren to dance, square dancing, loving her family and friends.  Mrs. Rodgers was a devoted Christian who believed in tithing to her church even asking that when she could not attend her tithing be taken to Red Oak.  She worked at the counter at City Pharmacy for years and took care of her customer like she did her family with love and kindness.  Mrs. Rodgers was preceded in death by her first husband; Neron Henderson, her second husband; Leon Rodgers her son Randy Henderson, her daughter; Lynn Watson Tisdale and her great-grandson; Tanner Germany.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law; Wanda Henderson Altman (Ron) of Alma, GA and Dianne Henderson Curvin (Jeff) of Covington, her grandchildren; Amy Watson Germany, Dustin Altman, Jaron Altman Curt Altman, Jamie Altman and Travis Altman, her great-grandchildren; Jordan, Sara, Allie, Norah, Sarah Grace, Anna Belle, Emma Kate, Faith, Tailor, Tristan, Tyler, Chloe and Ella, her brother; Tommy Lee Thomason along with a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Rodgers will be held at 12 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 23, 2017 at the Chapel of J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home with Reverend Andy Cunningham officiating.  Interment will follow at Lawnwood Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. prior to the service.  J.C.
