Lynn Hall Loyd of Covington, passed away Oct. 6, at the age of 60. Born at Crawford Long Hospital in 1948, she attended Kirkwood Elementary School and was a 1967 graduate of Southwest Dekalb High School. An employee with Lithonia Lighting for 25 years, she enjoyed fishing, playing slot machines, making her own music CD’s, and cooking — but above all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Mrs. Loyd was preceded in death by her daughter, Kandi Jeanette Mitchell; parents, James and Phyllis Jakes Hall; and her pet, Max. Survivors include her husband, Ricky Loyd; son, Jay, and wife, Mary Mitchell of Clearwater, Fla., son, Ricky Loyd Jr. of Covington; grandchildren, Michael, and wife, Suzy Mitchell of Nashville, Tenn., Sandie and Alex Mitchell of Clearwater, Fla.; great-grandchildren, Fernando and Cristian Mitchell; sister, Karen, and husband, Ron Wiley of Oxford; brothers, James, and wife, Mary Anne Hall of Hendersonville, N.C., George, and wife, Roxie Hall of Acworth; pets, Shorty and Sweetie; lots of nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for Mrs. Loyd will be held Thursday, Oct. 9 11 a.m., at the Chapel of Caldwell and Cowan, 1215 Access Rd., with Jim Stokes officiating, and interment following in Green Meadow Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, today from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
