Mrs. Lucille Maddox Fincher, 82, of Covington, a lifelong resident of the Conyers and Covington area, died Feb. 12. The daughter of the late Jessie and Dollie Mae George Robinson, she was born in 1927 in Rockdale County. Mrs. Fincher was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, Conyers. She was a loving mother who raised six children by herself and kept her family close while working as an inspector for Lithonia Lighting. She was preceded in death by first husband Clyde Maddox in 1966 and second husband Jack Fincher in 1994.
Surviving are children and their spouses Don and Bonnie Maddox of Conyers, Brenda and Ronald Shook of Marietta, Glenda and Tim Payne of Conyers, Ronald and Kay Maddox of Conyers, Marsha and J.T. Swain of Covington and Sue and Wade Garner of Oxford; brother Jessie F. Robinson Jr. of Eatonton; 13 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 15, in the chapel of Wheeler Funeral Home with the Rev. Bob Howard officiating. Interment will follow at Eastview Cemetery, Conyers.
