Linda Hughes of Covington, passed away at home August 16, 2009, at the age of 57. Mrs. Hughes was a long-standing member of North Covington United Methodist Church, and also served as Treasurer for the church. She dearly loved her family, especially her grandchildren. Mrs. Hughes was preceded in death by her father, Wallace T. Griffin; and step-daughter, Dede Hughes. Survivors include her loving husband, Joe Hughes; daughters and son-in-law, Rene’ and Eddie Huckaby; Rebecca Johnson, all of Covington; step-daughters, Tamie, and her husband, Gary Hegwood of Covington, JoAnn, and her husband, Mel Fuller of Grayson; grandchildren, Will, Dalton, Camron, Devyn, Cale, Jeffrey; mother, Luneal Jenkins; sister, Dianne Adams, both of Covington; brothers, Tommy Griffin of Covington, James Adam Griffin of Holiday, TN; several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for Mrs. Hughes will be held Wednesday, August 19, 2009, 4 PM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Rd., with Rev. Michael Bell and Rev. Deedee Lawson officiating, and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Tuesday, August 18, from 6-9 PM.
