Kitty Dell King, of Mansfield, passed away Nov. 5, 2018, at the age of 77. Mrs. Kitty was a faithful member of Mansfield Baptist Church. There, she formerly served as Treasurer and attended the Joy Sunday School Class. Her faith in God was apparent as she devoted her life to living for Him. Mrs. Kitty’s family was of utmost importance to her, and she took great pride in staying home and raising her family. Sunday Dinner was a staple in their home, and she cherished the time she spent with her children and grandchildren. She will be forever missed by all who knew and loved her. Mrs. Kitty was preceded in death by her loving husband, James E. King, Sr. “Big E”; her parents, Bennett and Jewell (Callaway) Shelton; and her brother, Bennett Frank Shelton, Jr.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Dye and Harry Galloway; son and daughter-in-law, James E., Jr., and Sandy King, all of Newborn; grandchildren, James E. King, III “Ethree”, Eli Galloway, Kit King, Ethan Galloway, Lillie King, Ezra King, Ella King; brother, Donnie “Buck” and Susan Shelton; sisters-in-law, Julie Timms, Mary Ellen King, Frances Shelton; as well as several nieces and nephews. 

Funeral Services for Mrs. Kitty will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, at Mansfield Baptist Church, 101 Woodlawn Road, in Mansfield, with Dr. Jeff Perkins officiating and interment following in Carmel Cemetery. She will lie in state at the church, one-hour prior to her service, from 10 – 11 a.m. Friends may visit Mrs. Kitty’s family from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7, at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 225 Peachtree Street NE, Suite #550, Atlanta, GA 30303.
