Katie Lee Jones Edwards, loving wife and mother, passed away amid family on Dec. 15. She was born to James Thomas ("Tom") and Nina (Moate) Jones in Oxford and attended Newton County High School. She worked in Atlanta for the investment firm, CIT, moving to Arizona in 2001 and to New Jersey in 2005, where she held the position of vice president in CIT's Communications, Media and Entertainment Division. She attended Macedonia Baptist Church in Oxford during her youth and later Peachtree Presbyterian Church in Atlanta.

Surviving are her husband Jack of Alpharetta; daughters Leigh Barrell of Rome, Paige Buckler of Norcross; granddaughters Emily Mason of Atlanta and Katie Barrell of Rome; grandson Tyler Mason of Norcross; brothers Bobby Jones of Macon and John Jones of Seneca, S. C.; and sisters Mary Lister of Macon and Debbie Lanier of Lilburn.

A memorial service is planned for January 2010 at the Macedonia Baptist Church in Oxford; specific date and time for the service are to be announced. All Katie's family, friends and colleagues are invited to attend. Donations to the American Cancer Society or other organizations helping to fight cancer, might be considered in lieu of flowers.
