Juliana Crenshaw Burt, 88, died on Friday, Sept. 2, 2016 in the Azalea House, a loving assisted living home in Tucker, Georgia. She was born in Atlanta to Thomas Childs Crenshaw and Mary Jane Rollins Crenshaw.
Juliana graduated from Girl’s High School in Atlanta in 1946. She married James Luther Burt, who was deceased in 1958. Juliana moved to Covington in 1960 and was very active in the community where she served as leader for the local cub scouts and girl scouts, as well as youth group leader in her church and was involved with 4-H, Beta Club, Y club and as youth choir chaperone. She worked as a bookkeeper for Gulf Oil Company in Covington and Social Circle from 1963 until her retirement in 1993. Juliana was a light in the life of everyone she met. She was a lover of animals, laughter, gardening, good food, and books.
Juliana was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and son, James Martin Burt. She is survived by her son, William Crenshaw Burt; daughter, Nancy Burt Douglass; four grandchildren, Christopher Douglass, Stephanie Butler, Jessica Cates, Mary Claire Burt; and two great-grandchildren, Abigail and Tyler Cates.
The family had a private gathering to honor her memory and will not be holding any other service.
