Mrs. Evelyn Joyce Cook of Covington died Wednesday December 15, 2009 at Westbury Health and Rehab in Jackson, Ga. Born on December 22, 1930 in Fulton County, Ga., she was the daughter of the late Ras W. and Annie Perry Moore Fincher. Mrs. Cook was a member of Stewart Baptist Church since 1950, and loved flower gardening and was known as a great cook. She was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Survivors include her husband of 59 years John Marcus Cook of Covington; daughter Marcia Cook Burford of Jenkinsburg, Ga.; son John Marcus (Whitey) Cook of Stewart, Ga.; grandchildren Wade Burford, Matt Burford, Chris Cook, Noelle Cook; 8 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by five brothers. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 18, 2009 at Stewart Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Jones, Rev. Jimmy Edwards, and Rev. Jack Pickel officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6:00-8:00PM.
