Johnny Harville, of Covington, passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2018, at the age of 87. Mr. Harville was a founding member of Canaan Baptist Church, in Covington. In his younger years, he was a drag-car enthusiast, whether racing his own car or just spending time at the track. As time marched on, Mr. Harville developed other interests and hobbies. He liked being outdoors -hunting, fishing, and working in his garden. Mr. Harville will be remembered as a loving man who always put family first. He was preceded in death by his parents, Aaron and Delma (Beck) Harville; sisters, Dorothy Turner, Susie McNeal; and brother, Ellis Harville.

Survivors include his devoted wife of 67 years, Sara Harville; daughters and sons-in-law, Donna Jean and Jerry Smith; Lee Ann and Darrell Goodman; Ellen Denham; sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Cathy Harville; Mark and Ellen Harville; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Charles Perdue; brothers and sisters-in-law, Gene and Essie Harville; Bill and Lillian Harville; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service for Mr. Harville will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 28 at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, Covington, with Pastor Danny Sorrells officiating and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park, in Covington. Visitation was at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 27.
