John Carl Bledsoe passed away on October 2, 2016, surrounded by his family. A longtime resident of Ocala, John was born and raised in Covington. He was a graduate of Georgia Tech and was proud to be a Mechanical Engineer. John served his country as a Naval Aviator and carried his passion for flight throughout his life. He was a successful businessman, passionate golfer, Eagle Scout, devoted friend, loving father, and dedicated member of First United Methodist Church.

John is survived by his loving wife, Nancy and two children Mel Bledsoe (Shannon) and Pam Brewer (Jeff); step children Jama Bezzy (Dan) and Stephen Maxson (Roxanne); five grandchildren, five step-grandchildren and four step- great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by, his son, Sid Bledsoe.

A celebration of life is planned for Thursday, October 6, at 3 p.m. in the sanctuary of First United Methodist Church, 1126 E. Silver Springs Blvd, Ocala, FL 34470.
